Fabric engineering specialist Cover Zone was on hand at Automechanika Birmingham 2018 showcasing its product ranges that are designed to add a premium feel to customers’ experience with dealerships, garages and bodyshops.
Life moment
For dealership customers, whether purchasing a new or a used car, a vehicle purchase is likely the second-biggest purchase they will make after purchasing property. Richard Barton, Managing Director at Cover Zone, explained how his company’s products can help make the delivery of a customer car extra-special. “Our Showroom Reveal covers are for customers that are both selling new cars and second-hand car specialists. They make a bit of razz-a-matazz for customers when they come to collect their vehicle, or when they are revealing new cars,” Richard told Scots Auto Scene.
The Showroom Reveal covers, Richard continued, can be made-to-measure by Cover Zone’s in-house fabric engineers, including with company branding to reinforce the dealership’s positive portrayal in the customer’s mind. The range of products Cover Zone provides is extensive, Richard explained, which demonstrates the capabilities of what it can create for customers.
“We have over 700 patterns. We have 14,000 covers available off the shelf for next-day delivery. All popular lines in modern cars are catered for - we’ve got lots of things for classic cars, specialist cars, and if people have a special requirement, whether it’s for a full-size truck down to the smallest microcar, we can send one of our development engineers along to take a pattern.”
Everyday protection
New for Cover Zone at Automechanika Birmingham 2018 was its range of reusable vehicle interior covers. “These are a hard-wearing alternative to one-time use throwaway plastic seat covers - sets retail at less than £3 a set and include a steering wheel cover and handbrake cover to give good protection when the car is being worked on,” Richard explained.
These robust, reusable kits provide greater protection to a car’s interior when the customer brings it in to be serviced, repaired or valeted, Richard continued, and make the customer feel like their pride and joy is being given the care and attention it deserves. “It’s something that’s going to take good care of the interior, it’s not just going to slide off the seat. It’s going to be fitted in place and it shows the customer that the business is taking really good care.
“It’s a small investment, it shows that they’re thinking about the small things and therefore they’ll be taking care of the big things as well. It’s not lots of money that has to be put on the shelf, we can hold stock and supply them on a month-by-month basis, and these are things that are also environmentally friendly because you’re not just throwing away plastic just as you’re throwing away carrier bags - this is product that you can use eighty times, 100 times, maybe more than that if you take care of it.”
Like Cover Zone’s other lines, Richard said that the interior protection kits can also include company branding, making a link between the level of service provided and the company that did it, making a customer more likely to return. “If people are ordering 500 sets from us they can have their company name printed on them as well.”
Vast range
Cover Zone’s range of vehicle covers is backed up by the company’s broad experience in carefully crafting covers for a variety of equipment. Richard continued: “We have over 700 patterns.
