If you have other drivers parking near your covered car you may also consider....

Coverzone's Unique Side Protection System.

If you have ever had a nice shiny car in near perfect condition and worried that someone is going to park next to you and jam their car door into your car's bodywork then this is for you!
Coverzone have now developed a side protection buffer system that they can install in your new cover prior to despatch. This clever option permanently fixes a strip of high impact buffer pads along the side of the car in the door and side panel area where they are most vulnerable to door dings and scuffs.

The buffer pads are permanently fitted to the cover with double stitching and whilst they do not absolutely guarantee that your car will remain in pristine condition, they will provide much more protection in all those visible areas that are both costly and difficult to repair.
Once we receive the order for your new cover with side protection system we will take a stock cover and our skilled machinists will add the option to the inner lining on both sides. The cover will be a little bulkier when folded but the pads cleverly concertina closed when not in use so handling and storage of the cover is still a breeze.

Classic cars aren’t just vehicles; they’re history, craftsmanship and countless hours of care rolled into one. Whether it’s a cherished weekend drive or a long-term restoration project, protecting a classic car requires a very different approach from covering a modern daily driver.

One of the biggest concerns for any classic owner is paintwork. Older finishes are often softer, thinner and far less forgiving than modern clear coats. Choosing the right car cover plays a crucial role in keeping that finish exactly as it should be.

Classic Car ProtectionWhy Classic Cars Need Special Protection

Unlike modern vehicles, classic cars often feature:

  • Single-stage or older paint systems
  • Hand-finished or resprayed panels
  • Less corrosion protection beneath the surface

This means they’re more vulnerable to:

  • Fine scratches and swirl marks
  • Moisture being trapped against the body
  • Dust and airborne contaminants
  • UV fading over time

A poorly chosen cover can do more harm than good, which is why material and fit matter far more than price.

Breathability Is Non-Negotiable

For classic cars, breathability is essential.

A cover must allow moisture to escape while preventing dust, dirt and condensation from settling on the paint. Without this airflow, trapped moisture can lead to:

  • Clouded or stained paint
  • Surface corrosion
  • Mould and musty odours

High-quality breathable fabrics help maintain a stable environment around the car, particularly during long periods of storage.

Soft Inner Linings Protect Delicate Finishes

Older paintwork can mark easily, even during careful handling. The best classic car covers include:

  • Soft, non-abrasive inner linings
  • Materials designed to glide over paint rather than grip
  • Stitching positioned to avoid contact with painted surfaces

This reduces the risk of micro-scratches when fitting or removing the cover, detail classic owners truly appreciate.

Fit Matters More Than Ever with Classics

A well-fitted cover sits neatly over the car without excess fabric flapping in the wind or dragging across paint.

For classic vehicles, this is especially important because:

  • Body shapes can be more pronounced
  • Chrome trims and badges need clearance
  • Sharp edges can stress poorly fitted covers

Tailored or well-sized covers reduce movement and help keep every surface protected evenly.

Common Mistakes Classic Owners Should Avoid

  • Using cheap universal covers with rough interiors
  • Choosing fully waterproof, non-breathable materials
  • Covering a car that hasn’t fully cooled or dried
  • Leaving dirt on the paint before covering
  • Assuming indoor storage means no cover is needed

Classic care is about consistency, not shortcuts.

Preserving the Finish for the Future

Protecting a classic car is about respecting its past while ensuring it stays beautiful for the future. The right car cover helps preserve:

  • Original paint and patina
  • Restoration work
  • Long-term value

For owners who understand that not all covers are created equal, Cover-Zone offers car covers designed with breathability, fit and material quality at the forefront, exactly what classic vehicles deserve.

Because a classic isn’t just stored. It’s cared for.
