When the Cabinet office asked us if we could help with the massive requirement for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) just before Easter, we made some calls to our production partners in China. One of those companies has a medical division that produces healthcare coveralls to CE approved standards. They had already been very busy with orders for the USA, Italy and Germany but they agreed to help at once.

We received our first purchase order from the Department of Health in the evening of Easter Saturday and production began within hours. Now, with some amazing help by Allport Freight Services, the first batch has been delivered to the NHS Distribution Centre in Northamptonshire.

The biggest challenge has been the sheer scale of the task as the packed volume of 920 boxes fills 3 articulated trucks! Air shipment was made using 4 different routes to get everything here as quickly as possible.

More batches are underway and the next load leaves the factory near Shanghai on Saturday and will be flown here using the Government’s own charter flights into Bournemouth Airport. We are proud to be putting our abilities and contacts at the UK Governments disposal to make sure they get this much needed PPE to the frontline doctors and nurses so that our NHS and the country can beat the Covid-19 virus.
